Toronto-based multimedia company S-VOX is rebranding the two OMNIstations it purchased from Rogers Media last year under the banner Joytv.Rogers paid about $13-million to Winnipeg-based Trinity TV for thetwo stations in May 2005. Trinity had operated the Vancouverstation, formerly called NOWTV, since 2001.Rogers was required to sell the two stations as part of its deal tobuy five CityTV stations from CHUM Ltd. last year in order toalleviate concerns concentrated media ownership.The channels - number 10 on the dial in Winnipeg and number 11 inVancouver - will feature simulcasts of U.S. shows such as 60Minutes and Smallville. Shows lined up for syndication includeThird Watch and The Practice.S-VOX calls itself "Canada"s foremost provider of televisionand digital content focused on spiritual awareness and personalgrowth and wellness." It says the Joytv schedule will befilled out with "Christian ministry and multiculturalprogramming."Grant Surridge
